Ruger 77 R-Z?

I have a M77R 270Win with a tang safety and factory laminate stock made in 1987,model 07702 according to the Ruger site.I remember when these came out and I thought they were a limited issue Shot Show edition or something like that.Does anyone know more details about these?Thank you!

The last few years of the tang safety 77's production saw them offered with laminate stocks in "at least" 2 colors. The green as shown & one they called desert, no green or gray, just shades of browns. Thinking there was one with quite a bit of red in it as well.

Sorry, but that's about all I can remember.

The "Z" model green laminate was Ruger's first laminate offering in 1986. They were offered in the 77/22, Mini-14 and several different calibers of M77 tang safety. They seemed to be popular at first but then WBR noticed another company also began using that same laminate (savage maybe?). PO'd the old man because it was his understanding he would have the exclusive on the green laminate, so he quit making them in the green. Then they were really all over the place with other manufacturers. Shortly after, Ruger began doing them in a two color brown laminate and also a 3 color brown laminate.
