You can find the info in the Reference of Ruger firearms that's published by Red Eagle News Exchange.

Here's what I have on the 7x62x39, from the reference:

KM77RPW 7.62 x 39 (Ruger model 7853). A special Distributor model for Davidson's (AZ) and Williams Shooter's Supply, AcuSport, V.F. Grace, Inc. and Ellet Brothers) with wood forearm and grip inserts. Known s/n range 780-40534 to 780-61186 - 1,217 produced).

Then Ruger did another batch of the 7x62x39 without the wood inserts in the model KM77RLP Mark II, (Ruger model 7999) Special Distributor model - known s/n range 786-62602 to 786-70871 (a total of 1,016 were produced in 1999 and 2002 for Davidson's (AZ).

Lastly, Ruger also made a very few guns in 7x62 with Zytel boatpaddle stock and blue barreled action.

Chad, do we know 'if any' or 'how many' were made with sights?

I'm not aware of any of Ruger's 7x62x39 bolt guns being produced with sights.
As far as the blued barrel action models with boatpaddle stock that were made for Davidson's, the only caliber that had sights was in .35 Whelen.

update.made it to the range(100 yards) and I think it shot good for using some wolf ammo.I haven't had the time to work on some handloads yet.on the target you can see where I walked it in.not bad for 4.00 a box russian ammo :D

This is one caliber combination of M77 that Ruger would for sure sell a metric ton of, just because of the cheap ammo. There are thousands of AK owners out there that stocked up on cheap 7.62x39, that would love to have one of these 77's to take to the range with their AK and shoot some nice groups like txpete showed us. Come on Ruger, give us stainless/laminated and blued MKII's with sights!

cz makes a 16" barreled detachable box mag bolt gun in 7.62x39 and it has a timmley single set trigger. it's a great little brush gun for deer or hogs.I know a guy who has one and with handloads it's very accurate and plenty powerful out to 250 yards or so .I think it's a model 527? wish i had the money for one .it would be a cool little rifle to have but I've got my deerslayer and unless your hunting feilds thats plenty of gun

Zastava also offers their model 85 in the short russian chambering.

Remington briefly imported them as their model 799.

Good day, I know this is a old thread but looking for some info on a rifle i'm looking at. Like in this thread what I have found is a M77 Mark II in stainless. The cal on this one is 7.62. Does anyone know the value of these? Been researching for a while while and cannot find them even in my gun bible. Any help would be appreciated.

If that one has the boatpaddle stock and wood inserts, then here is the info on the model...

KM77RPW 7.62 x 39 (Ruger model 7853). A special Distributor model for Davidson's (AZ) and Williams Shooter's Supply, AcuSport, V.F. Grace, Inc. and Ellet Brothers) with wood forearm and grip inserts. Known s/n range 780-40534 to 780-61186 - 1,217 produced in 1991).

There was also another Davidson's run of the Ultralight stainless model, as follows...

7.62x39 (Ruger model 7999) Special Distributor model - known s/n range 786-62602 to 786-70871 (a total of 1,016 were produced in 1999 and 2002 for Davidson's (AZ)

Somebody should be along for an estimated price.
Just be aware though that there probably aren't many people who even remember these models. High demand equals higher prices, so without the demand it should probably be priced at a regular dealer not much higher than a standard All Weather M77 Mark II.
