Hey guys and gals. I picked up a very clean but used 22/45 Mark III the other day that I discovered has a slight problem. Sometimes the bolt wont close all the way,or strip off the first round on a reload or on a fresh magazine loading. It happens with both the bolt release lever and during "slingshoting" the bolt. It came with 5 magazines and it will do it with all 5. It doesn't do it all the time, but it will do it about 60% of the time. Took the gun apart and cleaned and lubed it, also took all the mags apart and cleaned them as well but the problem still exists. Any tips for a first time 22/45 owner. Thanks. P.S--- I did notice when this happens during a reload, if I take out the magazine, close the bolt and then re insert the mag and slingshot it, it will chamber that first round. After the first round is chambered it runs flawlessly.

drop45 ... A first round fail to feed often happens as the round "nose dives" into the center of the feed ramp. Tilting the nose of the first round upward prior to inserting the magazine will likely solve your issue.
Two things: First, as far as the bolt not closing all the way, make sure all the little nooks near/around the back face of the barrel are cleaned out. The notch for the extractor can get full of crud and not allow the bolt to close sometimes. Magazine issues: When I load my mags, once full, I almost always (gently) tap the BACK of the mag on a table, or against my hand, just to be sure the rounds are all at the back of the channel, and the noses are pointed like BuckJM53 shows in his post.
