RUGER 22/45

I need some help determining the year of manufacture for my 22/45 Target. I was able to find all of my other Rugers birthrates on the Ruger website, but my 22/45 target serial number was not listed. The serial number is 218-7XXXX. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Interesting, I can't find anything using the 218- prefix either. Call or email Ruger CS, I'm sure they'll shed some light on it.

AH, now I see it too. Missed it the first time just scanning the first column of prefixes.

Thanks for the replies. The pistol is definitely a 22/45. I guess I'll email Ruger and see what information they have.

Let us know what they say. I find the dual prefix serial number listings for that range of years curious.

The barrel may have been replaced since new.

My MK III 22/45 from 2009 had the barrel replaced by Ruger and it now has a prefix of 271.

That's not it.

Do you have the envelope with the spent shell?

There wasn't a spent casing with gun. The sticker on the outside of the case lists the gun as: Model 00189, catalog P4, s/n 218-7XXXX.

A quick google does show that a Model 00189 is a 22/45, the P4 donating the 4" barrel version I believe.
At this point just looks like Ruger has some errors in their online lists.
We'll see what they have to say about it.

This is a 22/45 model. The same prefix of "218" was used for both the Mark II and 22/45 Mark II models.
