New member. I am from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada and I just purchased SR22 tactical rifle and 22/45 lite pistol.
Can anyone bring me up to date on upgrades to 22/45 lite. I seen it on a post recently that there was a booklet for upgrades (do it yourself).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Fred

I have a 22/45 Lite too and would appreciate any suggestions that members of this forum might have. I had a person from Optics Planet tell me that the Bushnell TRS-25 Trophy 1x25 Red Dot Scope would work well on this gun using a Ruger Weaver-Style Scope Base Adapter for Mark I/II/III and 22/45.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Picked up one of the new ones (all black) myself.
Shhots great. Not looking to put an optic on. I did see volquartson offer a new magazine base plate that ejects the mag on 22/45's.
That's worth while for me any way.

I may consider an optic sight due to my advanced age (soon to be 57, hehehe) as sometimes the sights get fuzzy. I have had to put a small piece of tape on the rear sight to see it well. Other than that, after playing around adjusting the sights, it does indeed shoot quite nicely. Stock 3 dot sights would be nice for us older folks.

Actually try a plain black rear with some type of front sight contrast.
I use a dab of green florescent paint on my fronts and they work well with my eyes as well.

Agree. I got a fiber front to use with the stock rear. Reason #1 is I'm cheap but #2 is because I just needed some contrast.

Took this pic in low light on purpose.

For the front it's -----> http://www.midwayusa.com/product/53...fiber-optic-with-6-interchangeable-lite-pipes

On the rear is the original 22/45 Target style adjustable. I didn't think I needed to spend $65 to get the rear dots in bright....contrast was all I was looking for. My polished base pin latch you see protruding helps a little in tear down and reassembly but also is the tape on the steering wheel and a guide to the sights.

I would think the Mag disconnect bushing from Tandemkross would be the first thing, $10 is a good investment. I have one in each of the three MKIIIs I shoot regularly.
