Looking for decent scope for my 10/22. Don't want to spend to much on one maybe 150 max. Also open to reddots. Open to suggestions.

I got one of these for my 10/22 build , but have yet to mount it.

I am currently using a 4X Nikon rimfire scope and I have been very happy with it on my stock 10/22. Now, after building the 10/22 into a 100 yard rifle, I want more magnification.

Hard to beat these scopes for the money.

G'Luck.

Depends on your intended use....

If tin cans and other "targets of opportunity" at 25 yards or less, or bunny/squirrel hunting are the primary use, a 1-3X or 1.5-4.5X variable would be my choice.

If it's going to be used to punch holes in paper out to 100 yards or so, something like a 3-9X or 4-12X would be preferred.

An all-around compromise would be a 2-7X.

At or about $150, look at the Nikon ProStaff series. For less money, I've had very good luck with Simmons scopes on .22 rifles, but I wouldn't trust them on anything with much recoil.

Thanks for the suggestion every. I went with the Simmons scope with Weaver 1-Inch Steel Lock Mounts For Ruger so I can use the stock site also. Looks great!

I have a Nikon Prostaff 3-9 on my 10/22 DSP and it has served me well for coming up o 5 years. Others I know have also had great experiences with this and other Nikon scopes (and cameras).

For future considerations, check out Mueller 3-9x40 Sport Dot and 4-16x50AO Sport Dot Scopes. I have two of each and love 'em! That little Red Dot helps my eyesight tremendously.

Cheers!
