I heard a rumor that the ejector on a #1 can be adjusted so that the empty isn't fully ejected when the action is opened and would like to know if that is true?

The adjustment screw is under the forearm as mentioned. It is an Allen head that is screwed in against the spring and is located on the left side attached to the forearm hanger. that's the adjustment for the ejector. It can also be removed if you want the rifle to simply extract rather than eject. I have a pill bottle full that came out of my "V" varmint models.

If you remove it there is only one caution. When you remove it there is a pin in the strut that actually holds the extractor/ejector in through a small stud welded to the receiver that can fall out when handling the rifle once the spring pressure is off it. It's no big deal and it can't come out once the forearm is back on but I've lost the pin the the carpet before and it's hard to find. ;-)
