News clip last night on the 10:00 o'clock news told of the death of Hollywood actor Robert Blake.

I remember going to the Saturday picture show and seeing "Wild Bill" Elliot as Red Ryder, and a very young Robert (billed then as "Bobby") Blake as his side kick Little Beaver.

He later played in sort of a hokey detective series, Barretta, which featured a parrot, or maybe a myna bird.

He was in the news for awhile at the murder of his wife, of which he was accused, tried and acquitted.

And so Time marches on..............

Blake was pretty good in Electra Glide in Blue. I believe he was also in In Cold Blood.

He was also hilarious on Johnny Carson. I remember one story where he talked about coming down with "farfalonus of the blowhole," a phrase I still use to this day to describe any unknown or unspecified sickness.

He was a character.

The opening of Electra Glide in Blue is one of the greatest movie openings of all time.

The first I remember Robert Blake was his chilling performance in the movie In Cold Blood. I can still see him chewing those aspirin. His crime partner in that movie was Scott Wilson who much later played Hershel in The Walking Dead.

They stopped too soon. The best part of the opening is when they're going down the lineup at 0.50.

His portrayal of Perry Smith in "In Cold Blood" was intense. The scenes of him daydreaming of fame and his delusions of grandeur were well played. He and Scott Wilson both played excellent parts

I bought the soundtrack, which came with two posters, one of which was something like 2x6 feet. I had it on my dorm wall, and it hung there for weeks before I noticed that RB and his bike were in the picture.

Watched them film this in Victorville. Still love the VW with the roll down rear window.

I listened to this podcast of the murder of Bonnie Lee Blakely. Very telling of the character of Robert (Micky) Blake. I’m of the opinion that he got away with murder.

OJ Simpson, Robert Blake, Ted Kennedy, Hillary & Bill Clinton have all gotten away with murder. I suspect Alec Baldwin will get away with killing that lady on a movie set as well.
The rich and famous buy off prosecutors, juries and judges and make witnesses conveniently "forget" what happened.

BOB: I fondly remember ROBERT BLAKE from the Little Rascals. And enjoyed watching him in them, when I was a young kid back in the 1950`s But I always heard from people that knew about him, his whole life. That He came from some very serious hard scrabble, highly troubled times. And it appears those troubled times followed him most of his life. I wish him peace. And I am glad to know, no one will be able to take advantage any more.

I remember an episode of The Merv Griffin Show where MG visited Blake at his house. During the filming, Blake pulled out a 22 rifle out of its case. Silly Merv almost peed his panties. I thought Blake was cool then.
