were the ROA in 5 1/2 produced in all yrs ,or just in smaller quantities.have 1 made in 94 and thinkin bout tradin but dont seem to find many for trade value reference

The 5-1/2" length didn't come out until after the fixed sight Old Army was introduced (fixed sights introduced 1994). All 5-1/2" have fixed sights except for one apparently very rare 5-1/2" stainless gun that I know of that has adj. sights.

If I remember correct and I'm fighting CRS here.
The 5 1/2" was only out there for about 3 years or so and that was at the end of ROA production.

yep its 1 of the early 94 models in great shape . i may just keep it . lookin for box and papers to fit .

If that is 145-90688, its the only one I've ever heard of. And with a sn production date of 1998 or 1999 (at least by Ruger's website), makes me wonder if Ruger erred in making that model. To go maybe 10 years without even being discovered and another 3 without another example showing up leads me to believe production was extremely small!!

IF my memory is correct, I saw one in a Redding Ca. shop and then I saw this one on Gunbroker.com. I don't think they were the same one. In any case - just two sightings still suggests a very low production number. :shock: Just thinking that there are a few (more than just one) out there.
Sort of like the 3" adj. sight SS GP-100 or the short lug, blued 3" GP-100..... there ARE a few out there.

Not quite sure what you mean by erred. That would be a hard one to make by mistake, if that is what you mean. Not the same as cutting a 7 1/2" barrel to 6 1/2" as in the Supers.
Sounds like this gun was made before the 5 1/2" Fixed sight guns. If so you would not have a loading rod that fits. The barrel is also different than the the other smokless 45s. Alan cut my loading roads and welded them. Reason was because Ruger didn't have any parts.
Looks like the same S/N as you stated.
