I am looking for a reputable online dealer for Ruger firearms. One that is quick and reliable with good customer service. Good prices and free shipping. Is there such an animal.....lol ?

Looks like they quote local dealers and have to charge local tax also. I know who my local dealers are. Looks like a greart way to locate what you are looking for . Thanks

They are very quick too. I ordered a USFA SAA and it was over-nighted and was at the store the next day.

I might also add that they have a pretty good guarantee too that's hard to beat:

I too have ordered guns through them and the experience is fine. Plus they sometimes have odd stuff taht doesn;t everf seem to make it to a retail store. Look at the 44 M (original) Vaqueros they have listed now!

Depends on the dealer. When I find the gun I want I call my listed dealer and let him order it. He doesn't charge me the shipping if I can wait and let him receive the gun with his regular order.

I would have to say Buds will give you the best deal in the long run.

Davidson is good but that "dealer fee" is a little BS. The fee is actually a double profit. The dealer charges you an upfront margin and then gets another $50 - $150 back from Davidson.

There are a couple of good dealers on Gunbroker that I have had dealings with for many years. I can send info if you like.

I don't believe that is true at all. For example, I can buy a new Ruger .44 Flattop from Davidson's for $453.71. That is LESS than I can buy one at any gun store in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and is less than they sell for at our gun shows. The dealer charges $17.95 to receive the gun and transfer it. You will pay a transfer fee to every dealer that I know that will order a gun for you out of state. And I'm quite sure the dealer is NOT receiving any $50-$150 kick-back from that price. I think they are cutting their profit margin very close.

Yes, Davidson's does give a 'kick back' to the selling dealer, but it ranges on the price of the firearm.

Anyone use Impact Guns?

Impact Guns is about a half hour drive down the freeway from me. I usually stop in every week when I head into Boise. They have a nice indoor range and give you a free month long range pass with every new gun purchase. You can buy from their large stock or order through Davidson's. Nice people. I believe they have a couple more retail locations in Utah.

I was using that range as my dealer gave me several examples. My dealer recently dropped the double fee as he was losing business to other local dealers.

I have heard good things about Bud's... but have never bought from them myself. I did buy some ammo from Natchez once and their server had a hiccup and my order was lost. I called them the next day to confirm why I couldn't see my order on their website and the guy looked into it, told me what happened and shepherded the process to get things squared away, even going so far as to call me the day after that and let me know he'd entered it manually and had a tracking number for me!

Very good customer service... would buy from them again. But, probably not a gun... I prefer to buy my guns in person... just me.

Ray, from your posts I'd suggest finding a local transfer dealer first, and calling them personally to find out about fees & any other rqmts.

There are TD directories available via auctionarms and gunbroker, etc, and shopping around may yield a much lower transfer fee and you can put the savings in your gas tank (or buy ammo). ;)

I have TD's in my area ranging from $10 all the way to $65 for some guns. guess whose form I'm filling out?

Your profile does not even have a state so I cannot comment, but some local ordinances or state laws may have you paying extra for a NICS check, state registration, or such nonsense.

I have a great local FFL in Bebbrook Tx. and he was on Bud's list. I got a great deal from buds on my revolver. However, it was $8. more than advertized while I was ordering. Then it went back to the original list price after my order was made....grrr The online order service went down twice while I was ordering. I just called and placed the order. Still had to take the $8 loss because the man who took my order said prices change ever 20 min. on some guns, so he just did not know. Well there was a 3 min. window price change on my order....lol Gave up on trying to get it straight. Just hope I get a new gun like I paid for. I might get a better update because the information on my order status is very vauge. I am sure (hope) everything will turn out well. One thing for sure I won't get on the phone again today.

This is turning out good. My shipment is on it's way and Bud's is sending me $8 check to corredt the selling price of the firearm. I got a grate price and it looks like I will get very fasi delivery. :)

I am not a dealer. My dealer is the one getting the deals. I do believe some of this is do to high volume sales. CDNN, Clark and others do the same.
