If not an -RP, it will take an angle grinder and mods to the gripframe....

Ruger does sell 1911 grips, look under SR1911. I used a pair on my 22/45 LITE. The 22/45s without removable grips can be altered to take 1911 grips. There is a guy on the rimfire central forum that does it. mine: Glenn
