Please don't laugh too hard, but has anyone ever used Renaissance Wax on the frame of a LCR 357 mag?? The cylinder steel is a smooth steel and should take the wax very well but the frame is a texured steel. If anyone has used this wax on the FRAME of the LCR 357 I would really appreciate hearing about your results. Many thanks,
hs

Edit to original post--The revolver parts i have in question are the outside of the barrel and the top strap. I should have said that instead of "frame". I got in too big of a hurry. Sorry.

My only concern would be whatever minute amount of abrasives might be in that wax. The black on the stainless may start to wear with repeated treatments. I have used Macguiar's pure carnuba before, but I just didn't feel the effort resulted in more protection that Eezox or whatever oil I had been using,

I used Renaissance Wax on the frame of my LCR 357 mag and
my LCR 22 with very good results. Also use it on my SP 101,
Mark 11 .

Renaissance Wax has no abrasives. I have used it for many years on my custom knife collection and on firearms. I feel it is a great product and would not fear using it on any knife or firearm.
Be well,
Jeffro

As mentioned above, Renaissance Wax is not an abrasive product, and is perfectly safe on all finishes including: CCH, bluing, Nickel, SS, brushed chrome, damascus, etc! If you want something to remove light to moderate scratches on SS or Nickel, the company that makes Ren Wax also makes a product called Pre-Lim which is a mildly abrasive paste. To find out more, go to: restorationproduct.com. Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks everybody for your reply. Sounds like Renaissance Wax is safe to use on just about anything. I have since heard that it is even used on museum pieces. Gotta be good stuff! Thanks again,
