Remodeling - does it end?!

No, I had a temp. pacemaker put in to stabilize it. Not a lot of fun even with a local! My left ventricle is screwed up and my aortic valve leaks a little but my ejection fraction is still 60% or more. My primary issue was pulmonary edema from the heart being weak. A couple of terms at Cardio/Pulmonary Rehab helped a lot. Trying to do the same via Planet Fitness, as I said.

Never had a problem with that but I was pretty selective in who I would work for. Any change orders were in writing, signed for and paid for outside of the original contract. Requiring payment up front for those changes reduced their number dramatically.

I and my dad built the house back in the late 70's after clearing the land.
It means a lot to me.
Been updating for months.
NO, it never ends. Wife watches that crap on TV, flip/flop or some BS shows.
The current price just for paint is over 50$ a gallon. Prices are stupid.
Wife has "visions" for the joint. Sadly I'm the only one updating, actually doing the work.
But to actually answer your inquiry, It will never end.

Finished the last of the painting in our master bedroom this evening. Very therapeutic after the day I had at work, and reminds me of when I do like it, I just like to complain about it at forums like this!

Spent the entire weekend and today off from work to finish up after flooring installed in two rooms.
Fresh enough paint was in one room but the master bedroom needed paint bad, at least I've finished the walls but still need to paint the baseboards when I can this week in the evenings if I can!

Does it every end? Last year was a roof, then paint on exterior. Feels like its perpetual right now but hope to see the light at end of tunnel soon. Missing my Sundays at the range during all this, we had the other two rooms refloored last month, hope you guys are getting out!

As a licensed plumbing contractor, I can assure you that a major remodel takes a WHOLE lot longer that ever projected. Mere flooring and paint - pffft.

I hear you on paint prices. I'm probably doing it wrong but never get it looking nice with one coat, now matter the 'grade' or brand I buy so I go with Valspar Ultra at $33/gal - first coat is put on light and then a second. Advice certainly accepted, still a few small closets in a spare room to do next but I should have enough of the stuff left over from master and its closets which are now all done! Just need to put furniture back and misses will be happy camper.

That implies contractors suck at making projections.

Actually, many contractors intentionally underestimate the elapsed time to complete a job in the hopes of being hired. Because the homeowner's two priorities are: how much will it cost? How long will it take? the ability to low-ball the bid - with massive change orders after the work begins - and low-ball the elapsed time are virtually requirements to be a contractor. And correspondingly, the most frequent complaints about the GOOD contractors are: Too expensive. Took too long.

Do it right or do it twice.

here my new airplane hanger. 60 X 48. im into it for 200K now. need another 20K to complete. but the infloor heat is on. new 52 x 16 door. so it never ends in my world

Moved us back into the master yesterday so now I can take it easy on finishing the spare room.

Went to the rifle range this morning.
