What iteration of Rolling Block is this frame and what evidence do you have that it is pre-'98? There were at least 5 revisions to the RB design and IIRC they were manufactured from the 1860s (definitely antique) to the 1910s (not antique).

Good question on iteration, I do not know. The 4-digit serial number puts this in the pre-1898 time frame easily, perhaps even 1880’s I was told.

Looked up the qualifications for being antique and it seems to be anything over 100 years old. So even if made in 1910 it would fit that definition.

Just a FYI and pardon the interjection. An Antique is something made prior to Jan 1, 1899. Per ATF….

In general terms Antique is 100 years. For gun sales it must be pre1898. Muzzle loaders including Cap and ball revolvers old or new ship to your door no background check.
