Years ago built up a heavy bbl 10-22 and then traded it for a 223. Last week found a stainless 10-22 with a dished in synthetic stock. Bit by the bug again! Put a cheap bushnell scope and rings on and went to range. After sighting in, put old shotgun hulls on top of the 25 yard berm. Satisfaction is watching how many hulls went flying. Full circle and this is a keeper. best, greg

Properly done, a heavy barrel 10/22 will do empty 12 gauge hulls at 100 yards with about a 75% kill ratio.... time to build another?

I wanted to sight the critter in. As we had rain, didn't feel like going down to the 100 yd berm. Just did the lazy day short range sight in. greg

I'm in the same boat.
hadn't shot my 10/22 in a couple of years, broke it out the other day and had a lot of fun. Stock gun except for a VQ hammer, shot great. Took it home to clean it and discovered one of the receiver cross pins was missing plus I must have used lithium grease last time I lubed it. All caked up on the inside with grease and powder residue, missing a pin, but was still 100% reliable and accurate.
Put a receiver sight and cross hair front post on it that I had lying around, now just waiting for the pin to arrive, ordered a fiber optic front bead as well, didn't care too much for the cross hair front post as I remember.
