Looking for RED DOT recommendations for a Ruger LCS 9 Pro. Obviously need the mount and red dot. Preferably no gunsmithing required but will do whatever is necessary.

Thanks..👍

Thanks for the answer I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR 👎
but will do whatever is necessary.

guess you forgot you wrote that part !!!!!

well since the LC9s doesn't have a optics cut in the slide just how do you think you are going to mount it ? super glue ? JB weld ?

take it to a gunsmith and have the slide milled for a reddot ?

even if it's possible it would cost more than the gun is worth

if you want to try one of those mounts that go where the rear sight was ,this might work but from what i understand they don't always give the best accuracy as they can move around a little

here is one that has a reddot on it with that type of mount so you can see what it looks like and see if you have a interest in looking at those

I have a bunch of handguns wearing red dots on mounts that replace the rear sight. They're out there, just do the research.. Be cautious, the mount and dot need to have the same footprint, and there are several footprints.

I also have a few. One problem I have found with the mounts that replace the rear sight is the height of the dot relative to the bore axis, and can take some searching to find the dot in a hurry. Mounts that are inletted into the slide sit lower and are faster to pick up, and many also allow for co-witnessing of the front sight. On a small carry gun I would not want the dot any higher than necessary.

One other consideration regarding optics, is that you may have trouble finding a holster that is compatible - not all are. Those that aren't formed or cut to allow you to fully seat the gun when holstered can be a problem.

For a compact pistol like the LCS 9 Pro, you'll want something simple, durable, and without a ton of extra bulk. A lot of folks go with micro dots that don't require much (if any) gunsmithing—just the right plate/mount.
One option I've had good luck with is the ROMEO-MSR 1x20mm Red Dot. It's budget-friendly, holds zero well, and the glass is surprisingly clear for the price. Works great on both pistols and rifles once you've got the right mounting setup
