Does anyone have any info about 6 inch blue Security Sixes in .38 special? The serial # is 150-383XX. I got it in Dec of 1979 at a show in Chagrin Falls, Oh. Thanks.

Only about 500 made, Fairly rare gun to find, I have one but it is a factory reblue. WMG has a mint one boxed! :wink:

I came across a 1991 RCA Journal artricle by Phil Harden about Six Series guns but it doesn't contain much about .38s. Mine is unfired with a couple of light handling marks and the cylinder is turning plum colored. Thanks for the info.

Doesn't the Phil Harden article only talk about Liberty marked Da's? If so, your RDA86 wouldn't be mentioned there anyway because there aren't any Liberty marked RDA86 known.
There was an earlier RCA Journal article by Sonny Johnson though that speaks of the RDA86.
All the info though is in the "Reference of Ruger Firearms", published by Red Eagle News Exchange. For info on that, just send me a PM.
