RCA Memorabilia

Thanks Rick!
I noticed over in the classifieds where you responded to lmd's
post on Ruger OA's. You pictured a OA with a Black Ceramic mug with
a Red RCA loggo on it. I have also seen what appeared to be RCA
Bells(?) in Coogs NM Revolver display. Made me wonder just what all
there was out there.

Terry,
The RCA would normally put what they were selling/offering to members in their Journals. That might be one way to get a close list of things offered. If you need a complete set of Journals - Well, you know my e-mail. :)

There were other things also though, that were given by the RCA at some of the Ruger collector theme shows around the country. One that comes to mind is a double ended pewter or stainless shot glass, engraved with RCA on it.
The patches are always a popular item...and fairly easy to figure out. The field rep badge is a real tough one to come by.
Then there's the four piece set (red eagle and black eagle) stein and ashtray that they did about 1980 as well as an RCA logo bianchi flapholster. I also knew some collectors who put away the different types (and fonts) of RCA Member red front plastic tags.

Terry, The black mug was given to a person who had won an RCA event here back in 1982? From just memory I know the RCA had a key chain from a XR3 grip panel. Then there was the holster, several patches and hat pins, a decanter set, tumbler glass set, ash trays (red & black) and beer mugs in black and 3 variations of the red, a round brass belt buckle and a oval belt buckle that has a auto pistol on it. I do have a proto type buckle with the auto on it but is filled with turquoise stones.(There is a RCA letter on it) I think I may have a money clip but I have to check the list. They also had some double pewter shot glasses and a Cross pen and pencil set. (Those have an RCA letter to)
I am not sure but thinking back the decanter set and the bells that Rugercollector talked about were not made by the RCA but from a guy who promoted RCA theme shows. I think his name was Bill Goodman?

I have not seen one with one of Bill's cars, It must of been an early one. I have some other odds and ends I will have to dig out when I get a chance.

Hank, Don't think I have seen that one before. But now that you posted that I think they did a card with one of Bills cars...

Yup...I believe all RCA members got one in a certain year...may have been 1975, late '70's or something. Funny thing is, Ruger gave the identical card out...is greenish and black in color on the front. Ruger's cards (the unused ones that I've seen) are blank on the back. The RCA had their Christmas message printed on the back of these (probably Ruger's leftovers) for their organization at the time.
Saw a whole box of these in MS when I went there in 1994 to check out RCA's assets. Don't remember if they were blank on the back or with the RCA's red printing (their X-mas wishes message). Not even sure these didn't escape destruction. :( ...something that could have been used to get out of their $ woes back then.
