The factory High Gloss SP101s are scarce and hard to find. I've found only 3 so far and of those, only two followed me home. A high gloss SP101 shipper has to be downright rare. Score!

A near 30 year old box …. Already!

Great find.

A while back I finally found a box ~ with end label ~ for my 5.5 inch 357 Redhawk. Think they made those only 3 years in the early 80’s. Gotta keep chasin’!

(y) That is cool, I have two of the glossy SPs and they were made in the days when the early gray plastic boxes had no smooth end for a sticker, so they required such a shipper for the gun info. And naturally, mine were separated from their shippers before I got them.

My GKSP-331X is 572-4365x
My GKSP-321X is 572-3014x

Both of the above are .357 but there were glossy SPs in .22, .38, and 9mm

I recall seeing a glossy 9mm at Kittery Trading Post about 20 years ago, but I passed because it had no box and had aftermarket stag grip inserts. I second guessed my decision to pass on it all the way home. I think it was $399 and they were usually willing to negotiate a bit.

Thanks, Weaselmeatgravy, That's the first 3" I've heard about.
The problem with the high gloss is folks polishing their own guns at home. The only way to tell it is a factory high polish is by ser. no. look up and knowing which model numbers are high polish.
