How to remove a stripped pad screw ? How can I increase the length of pull on this Compact American
Thanks meaux

The way I see it, you have two options:
-extract the screw with a screw extractor or left hand drill bit OR
-cut the pad to get at the screw head and remove with pliers or vise grips

If you aren't comfortable with either of these, this is a gunsmith job. Did you manage to get either of the screws out? If not, I'd make sure they are actually Phillips and not hex or Torx.

My Predator model has Phillips head screws,#2 screwdrIver fits.
if you want to increase the length of pull just add a slip on pad over the original. Adds 1 inch. My local Walmart has them for $20

Actually the rifle was loaned to a friend who is handicapped and he did remove and lost the bottom screw
Which I replaced. He also lost front sling stud . He was trying to make stock fit him...I’m just trying to
Get rifle back in use . I love rifle...I changed trigger spring and it is tack driver , my intention is to lengthen pull and increase comb height to fit me. I’d like to DIY rather than buy another stock. Also my friend bought a muzzle brake ! Y I don’t know .. I will looks at y’all ideas ...Tks m

I understand your desire to stick with the original stock. When I head down one of these rabbit holes(AKA DIY gun stock alterations), I usually buy a takeoff stock on which to commit my atrocities. As it is, I second the suggestion of a screw extractor. I've used one a couple of times on buggered phillips head screws but it's a 'one time attempt'. If that fails, the next step is drilling the head off which is very tricky toward the end and will likely ruin the pad. That leaves you with the already mentioned cutting of the pad to allow use of ViseGrips-so maybe just sacrifice the pad and get it over with. If you're careful and are willing to use one of the slip-over pads, that will cover the damaged pad.
