Well I'm moving on from the Lee dippers to an electronic Franklin armory powder dispenser, it should get here in the mail today.

I am trying to shoot up some of my loads from my Lee dipper days. I shot this string of 12 today all loaded with a Lee dipper and 24.5gr of H110 powder. The bullet used was a 180gr Speer hollow point shot out of my 3.75 inch SBH bisley in 44 mag. This is the best SD and spread I've ever had with the dippers.

Here is another dipper load with Win 231 powder using the same 180gr Speer hollow point. Min max spread is not as good but still respectable SD for loading with the dipper IMO.

Well so far I'm seeing more consistency with the dippers compared to the manual RCBS powder thrower that comes with the rock chucker kit. Here is some garmin data for anyone who cares.
The 24 shot string is 255gr extreme flat points with 6.7gr of W231 done on the Rcbs powder thrower. These loads were shot out of a 4 5/8ths blackhawk chamber in 45 colt.

this last string of 11 shots was out of the same 4 5/8th blackhawk in 45 colt. These were Ruger only loads with enforcer powder and 255gr coated lead SWCs loaded again with the dipper. Not bad!

Have you tried the Lee Perfect Powder Measure? Mine is awesome every hundred or so I'll throw one on the scale just to check and haven't had an issue yet. Consistent and super easy to use.

Always. It's way more accurate than the scoops. And probably way faster than what you are getting. I hold the case under it, raise the lever to fill the measure and tap twice to settle the powder, lower the lever dispensing the powder and tap twice to make sure it's cleared. Everything goes directly into the case. I tried using the dippers and they take three times as long and wasted more powder trying to level them and pouring. The precision tricklers are OK but you are still dumping loose powder into a funnel or something.

The Franklin I believe trickles each charge onto a scale measuring it out to .01 of a grain and knows when to stop based on the weight on the scale. This is what my brother tells me anyway. I haven’t really research it, Amazon had it for $170 so I just ordered it.

Yeah if you're loading Benchrest competition or ELD loads I might use something like that. The Perfect is usually Pretty close to that whenever I check it. Every 50-100 or so I'll dump one on the scale just to check before I start seating bullets.

Yea it's probably going to be slow for higher volume shooting but I'm ok with that. Reloading is zen for me. No rush, it's nice to sit at the bench, not worry about the past or stress about tomorrow. Fully focused in the here and now.

I'm waiting on some brass to come in from Buffalo bore for the 500 JRH. My hope next spring is to take a brown bear with a revolver. I have a BFR in 500 JRH I plan to hunt with. My hope is this BFR likes the rim rock 440gr hard cast projectiles. If this Franklin powder dispenser is super accurate I'll be happy. I live in Alaska BTW

I have mostly Dillon stuff, but I have always loved the Lee Dippers. The measure by volume instead of weight, but I have found them to be very consistent if you follow the instructions. HOW you dip the powder matters. The just plain work.
