Questions regarding an engraved custom Bearcat

Recently I purchased a custom circa 1961 Bearcat. The frame appears to be nickeled and the cylinder and barrel appear to be in the white. To my untrained eye, the engraving seems to be hand done with a hammer and chisel as opposed to a machine engraver as there are apparent hesitation marks. The only leads that I have are the markings "#11", "Eng." and a superimposed "T E" under the grips. The grips appear to be fake mother of pear and I have learned from another forum and a bit of research that they may be Jay Scott grips. I'm not looking to sell the gun as I am kind of taken by it. It reminds me of the old cap guns of my youth.

I agree, kind of pretty,,,appears to be chromed ( plated) and yes, the engraving is 'hand cut', and the gripss are Jay Scott, tell by the trim around the backing.............nothing really we know as to the 'markings' on the inside, can mean about anything (except for the factory casting stamping "PR-1")

PS I must say....... the Bearcat is GREAT. The grips ain't cuttin' it. My not so humble opinion. I just am not one bit comfortable about those grips....
