I am trying to find a date (year of mfg) for my 10/22.
When i go to look it up i see the serial number chart but my 10/22 has a D in front of thr serial number and none on the chart do.
Does the D have any significance?
10/22 serial number is D 100569.

Thx in advance.

Welcome to the Forum!

As noted above,, the "D" signifies a duplicate serial number. That means that (2) guns got marked with the same serial number,, so to be able to sell & use them, a "D" has been added to tell them apart.
It has happened more than once in Ruger's production.

Yes,, collectors do look for "D" guns, "S" guns as they have a unique feature, and we crazy collectors like the odd stuff.
Condition is also important. But to find a "pair" (A "D" gun with it's brother without the "D") is a fun chase.

Is your gun the standard carbine?
