I received my RPR in .223/5.56 this week. One thing I have noticed is that the magazines are VERY difficult to latch into position. The first day, I had to slap the bottom of the mag hard to get it to latch. With ammo or empty, bolt forwards or retracted, it made no difference.
Turns out, there is an interference between the front top of the magazine and the bottom of the feed ramp. I found this by noticing compression marks at the forward tip of the magazines.
I ground the tip of one of the magazines until it would latch into place with light pressure.
I cannot see any burrs or other defects on the bottom of the feed ramp, so I'm not sure whether the problem is due to magazine design or a defect in the action.
Has anybody experienced this or heard of this before?
Thanks!
