Precision rimfire scope base alternative.

The base is not built in, and 30 moa is not 30 inches. I would bet that the 0moa base for the ruger american rimfire, or an EGW would work with little modification. The reason they use that inclined base is to accomodate those that want to shoot long distance, which is the whole purpose of that platform......
Each "minute of angle" is actually 1.047" per 100 yards so a 30 MOA built in elevation would require most of the internal adjustments of some scopes just to zero @ 100 yards.
I'm not trying to start a hair splitting contest here. The base supplied with the rifle is tilted down at the front. I am trying to find one that matches the profile and all dimensions of the original with little to no tilt. Simple. Lacking that I would probably settle for one that is close if it doesn't stick out anywhere too far.
Is the factory mounted "rail" attached using the same holes that a common RAR uses? If so and if you don't require the "rail type mount", a pair of #11(?) Weaver bases puts you back to level.
I suspect they are considering the PR is just a RAR with a bunch of stuff stuck on it. The local Sportsmans Warehouse has both in stock. I'll do a side by side and see what they look like. If they match that would probably be the easy way to go.
The 30moa rail is detachable so there shouldn't be a problem either getting a 0 moa rail or just standard scope bases to mount your scope. As long as the RAR rail hole pattern is the same, you can get one from Ruger and have both, make it a long or shorter distance shooter.
