I know a lot of people loved him in Tombstone. I'll always remember him in "Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones". Died of natural causes at the young age of 68.

Powers did a lot of films. In fact,,, he was a main star in a movie filmed here in Lake Lure many years ago. It was a story about eagles & their nesting & such. I'll have to look it up again,,, as it wasn't a "hit" movie. But he always played different parts,,, not getting type cast.
And I'm sure he'll be most remembered for his simple; "Well,,,,,,,,, Bye!" line in Tombstone.
RIP.

^ I don't remember him in that movie, but he was. I always remembered Brion James as the one armed Cajun.

R.I.P., sir.

Interesting actor.

One of the most intense, plot twisting movies I ever saw had him portray a character.. Also with Matthew McConaughey, and Bill Paxton.

The movie - "Frailty". Oh, wow.

My favorite thing he did was a movie called By Dawns Early light where he played a B-52 aircraft commander in the event of a nuclear war. Polar Bear 1 if I recall correctly.

The full movie is on Youtube.

Didn,t know he was a fellow Texan, But did like his acting. I think my favorite was a movie he made with Nick Nolte. I think the name was, Extreme Predajuce.

Aside from his remarkable talent... He has been married since 1969!

How often does that happen in Hollywood?
