Got a surprise this morning when LGS called and said that a pound of HP38 that i had ordered back in March came in, and when i went in to pick it up they also had a can of W231 that i also ordered in March. It was a good day.

Maybe it's starting to finally come around...I broke down a couple weeks ago and went to a shop I really don't like just to find some SR7625 for my 16ga. They had quite a selection of Hodgdon and IMR powders on the shelf, which was really surprising to me.

LGS had Power Pistol and Bullseye on the shelf for several days. Not sure if they still have it, but that's better than I have seen for a while. Lately, if they get some in, it's gone before packing hits the garbage can.

The big question is...what did he charge you? The local guy here has plenty of powder if you want to pay $39+ per pound. One of my favorite places which is 2 1/2 hours away has tons of powder for $18 to $25 per pound depending. I'll be making occasional 2 1/2 hour drives to stock up and doubt i'll go back to the one a half hour down the road.

I ordered W231 and HP38 both, figured i would take whichever came in first, luck would have it they both came in. The Winchester was $25.95 and the Hodgon was $23.95. They have always been fair about their prices, even back when all the shelves were empty and the other shops were charging $500 to $550 for a SR9c i got one from them for $415, had to wait a few weeks for it but they were fair with their price.
