I find this amazing, might just be me, that this component situation is continuing to plague us.

I placed an order on Feb 8th...had not received any confirmation to my email, that the order had even been placed nor had the order arrived. So, I called them a few minutes ago and they said they have not gotten to finalizing order statements from Feb 8th, yet...and that I would get the email confirmation on my order when they got to it and then it would be forwarded to shipping, and that shipping would take more days to accomplish. WOW!

However, I did have my confirmation # from when it was placed.

And, everything that I ordered, pistol powder and 5k primers, was in stock.

Talking about a back log...

Also, the customer service lady did not seem to be a HAPPY camper...hateful tone, somewhat curt responses. I guess this perpetual shortage has taken it's toll on her...I am sure it has.

I think most of us have been treated so well by PV under difficult circumstances that we'll continue to give them the benefit of the doubt on stories like this.

At least I will lol.

It is not a question of giving them the benefit of the doubt...it is about the amount of business they are doing. The only reason that I called was to verify that they did, indeed, have a record of my order, since I had not even received a confirmation email in 8 days. I am not in need of the items that I ordered, right now.

I am sure they are getting orders out as fast as they can.

I think I may have posted sometime ago about bullets I ordered. I placed an order with Beartooth Bullets in Oct last year, got a confirmation number and a week or so later an email stating they were on back order. Still no bullets and no reply to the last inquiry.
I ordered a rear sight from Bowen last year and in about a week got an email stating they were on back order with no expected shipment date. I guess they would rather I send them the pistol and pay a couple hundred to have it "fitted".
It is bad when you have money you want to spend and they won't take it.

Their tone over the phone is on par with what you get picking up items in person. Its just the atmosphere at the place. Ive ordered a lot from them and the one time I happened to be working close so I put an order in to pick it up on the way home. They were quick to get the order filled and ready for me but it wasnt staffed with the kind of people you hang out with for a little longer to bs like a lot of places are. Courteous but closing in on grumpy/po'd. And that was before the big run on components a few years ago...

I don't have any experience with Powder Valley at all...but that attitude is actually fairly common where you have a largely mail order business that handles only occasional "will call" orders. I used to have similar experiences picking up electronic components at a local warehouse that did probably 90% of their business "mail order", 8% will-call for local manufacturers and technicians needing to pick up parts and get back to a job site, and only 2% (or perhaps less) being will-call for less "focused" customers like myself.

Usually in these cases there isn't really anybody detailed to "mind the shop" all day...rather it's folks who are normally in the warehouse "picking orders" who are pressed into service to man the will-call counter...and in the mean time there is no-less volume of work "in the back" that needs to be done.

So, in most cases it's not that they intend to be rude, they just have a lot to do, not much time to get it done, and don't get paid to stand around and jaw. :)
