BassPro has Unique powder back in stock! I just placed my order.

Hi,

That's good news, even if, in the pattern of my typical luck, Unique is the only one I'm NOT short on! Guess that leaves more for the rest of y'all?

Shops around here haven't seen any in a good while and at last gun show only one vender had a pound or two and wanted 40 bucks for it. So when I see some I buy it if the price is right.

So just how much variation in the typical pistol loads do you folks using Unique figure on?

My 650 Dillon produces way too much charge-to-charge variance with Unique for me to be at all comfortable using it.

I'm not so OCD to not adapt to +/- 0.1 g....but typically it's more....way more...regardless of my recipe/caliber.

Just wondering.....

I don`t normally use Unique due to it`s poor metering. Others don`t seem to have that trouble or they just don`t check or care.

On my 550B I see about .2 variation and I do random checks as I load.

My local LGS has done a very good job, a little spotty but very good compared to other LGS's, Cabelas or Bass Pros in getting powders in stock locally. The online vendors have been just killing me. I mostly use pistol/shotgun powders and I can normally find my fair share of one powder or another about every week now, two months ago it was a completely different story. They get Titegroup in pretty much on a regular basis and enough where it basically is always in stock, not a favorite of mine but an okay plinking powder, 231/HP-38 are there most of the time picked another 3#'s again this week. I also picked up 5#'s of Hodgdon CFE Pistol, which is a fine powder. The two that I really haven't seen yet that are favorites are WSF and Power Pistol, maybe that will change soon. The prices are bumped up a bit about a dollar or two more than last year but with all that has gone on I can't complain. I'm down to just a bit more than 5000 Remington 1 1/2 SPP but I can get those fairly easily and I have plenty of LPP, mostly Winchesters. Life is not great but it's getting better for me at least. Bullets will become an issue as I normally buy in large bulk, I've been out of work, on workman's comp for almost two months after a bus decided to T-bone me in lovely California and put me in the hospital for three weeks during a business travel gig. It's funny cause I really can't shoot as all my ribs are broken on my weak side and I just can't get it together with any consistency, I'm told that could take another 6 to 8 weeks after my last tests today. I know I'm an idiot and I should just wait but I can't completely, that would make me crazier.

Cheesewhiz, Get well soon!
Powder availability seems to be easing some here too. I picked up some at the local gun show last month.
