According to Revelations, he was the first Jesuit Pope, and the last pope before destruction of the world. Perhaps this is the end of the world.
As long as the leftist lunatics burn in hell and the conservatives enter through the golden pearly gates, I'm ok with it.
Not very "Christ like" brother. Jesus loves the people we hate.

"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people."

My mom was raised Catholic, but lapsed after she was out of school and left home to work in another city.
When she met my dad they got married in a civil ceremony, then had us three boys.
By the time I was five in 1949, she returned to the Church and persuaded Dad to be remarried in a Catholic ceremony.
So I was the ring bearer at my parents' wedding.
Afterwards, my oldest brother (age 12) informed me and my middle brother that we were no longer illegitimate bastards.
I had no idea what he was talking about, but felt a sense of relief anyway.

Your words are biblical. What worries me is that if you look around, aren't we there now?

I used to be religious. Now I see the hypocrisy of the people telling you how to behave not behaving themselves.

There are good people and there are bad people. The ones you speak of are the bad ones.

The Lord has influenced one, and Satan has influenced the other.

The REAL problem is that sometimes we perceive a person to be on one side, when in fact they are on the other side.

Our only hope is for US to live a life that puts us on the right side.

Meh. Religions are about oppression and dominance and people telling you what was meant by some guy who died a thousand years ago which is just parroting what they were told by someone else who was told . . . Eat this, don't eat that, say these magic words, don't say those words, believe what we tell you to believe or we'll kill you. Do what this book says. We have to ignore that book because it is out of date. It's all a bunch of hoopla to put money in the pockets of people that have nothing else to contribute to society.

YMMV.

We all believe what we believe, and that's OK. The only thing that matters is what happens in the end.

If you are a believer and it turns out you are wrong, it doesn't matter.

If you are a non-believer and it turns out you are wrong, OOPS.

I prefer to err on the safe side.

I understand about the oppression and dominance.....been there, done that. But in recent years I have seen the other side - churches that are not the evil ones. Made me think.

Let me tell a story here, as it may provide some insight.....I truly believe I was witness to a miracle.

A little girl at our church had terminal cancer. On her last visit she basically said goodbye to the flock. The sight of her was overwhelming. One of the ladies dragged along her husband, who was a confirmed atheist. Prayers were said and everyone held hands, making a chain around the whole building. I cannot explain the electricity that went thru our bodies.

Two weeks later the pastor came to church and was noticeably energized. The girl had exhibited some strange health and was taken to the hospital. He hair was growing back rapidly and the tests showed she had no cancer. NOT in remission, no signs she had any cancer. As the Pastor was speaking, the atheist came in and announced he was converted.

Maybe 2 miracles, I dunno. What I DO know is that there is mystery in life and death, and none of us know the truth about it all.

God save Israel and the Ukraine.

I detest religion. How many innocents have been murdered in the name of somebody's god? (Including the God of the Hebrews/Jews) Remember the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition?
You can have righteousness and faith, and skip the religion BS.
You can pray directly to The Creator/Son without going to a building called a "church"

The most religious people I know won't set foot in ANY church. They feel like the influence of men gets in the
way of their connection to Jesus. IMO, they have a point.
Those who neglect church attendance are in direct conflict with the Bible. There is a large gap between religious living and Christian living.
