Add 33% and I'll vote! But I haven't bought any used gear since before the big price runups of the last couple of years. Today I'd probably think about 50%, in good condition, would be a real bargain... but I see certain used items w/ prices approaching their original retail so I'm probably still out of touch! Supply and demand?

Bad question for me. I can squeeze Lincoln until he screams and leaves Jefferson on the table. I learned that as a little kid from Mom. She'd drag me to garage sales and I watched her negotiate EVERYTHING. If it was marked a nickle she'd offer a penny.

I'll look at 50-60% If I NEED it. Otherwise it better be below 40.

I buy, sell, swap, and trade. That has been my lifeblood for shooting since I was first married. It started with the usual newlyweds with no cash, so I told my wife any hunting or shooting stuff I sell that came with me will stay as my hobby cash.

I have been living that way ever since, so I am always lookng for a deal that can plump my hobby cash stash. I try to live by this rule, "buy as a steal, sell as a deal." Mkaes me happy and keeps things moving along.

I voted 50% if the items are currently made. For items no longer manufacturered, It depends greatly on just how much I want it...

Several years ago I went to a gun shop in a neighboring city and bought two Bonanza Co-Ax presses for just under the then current price of one new one. Best buy I ever made. If I live to be a 1000 I'll never need another press.

I suspect I've paid more than 50% for some used loading equipment I've really needed/wanted, but most of the time it's been around 50% or below.

This would be a hard question to answer. I've never personally bought used reloading gear (oops, not true, I bought a set of used .45-70 dies for $15), but I have a friend who goes to garage sales and finds a lot of stuff, and it's all real cheap.

Used optics and reloading gear are not the places to try to make money, imo. Actually, there aren't many accessories that hold their value. Not like guns, anyway.

Yes, it is a tough one. I've seen old, yet perfectly good equipment in the pawn shop for super cheap. Good stuff doesn't really wear out often...

As an example, I have 3 MEC shotshell loaders in 3 gauges simply because why buy and change dies when I can buy one set up for $25 and $40 at the pawnshop to supplement my original. Same with old Lyman 45 lube/sizers. Good old perfectly usable unit that you can get for a song. Bullet molds? As cheap as $10 for "old" but well cared for and still good Lyman..

I would never pay more than 50% off retail for used equipment.

I rarely buy anything used, but when I do I won't pay more than 10c on the dollar. I have a classic CH reloader that I paid $10 for, and a RCBS that I paid $5 at a garage sale.. Don't know what its worth, but that's all it was worth to me since I really didn't "Need" it.

As an example, my other hobby is collecting antique outboard motors. Some of the ones I have are 90 years old and worth hundreds of dollars. When I see one I offer $20 and will go to $30 if necessary. Most of the time the owner laughs and is offended. I pass. Since my collection is over 50 right now, obviously a lot of people accepted my offer!
