"Pocket Gun" Journey Has Halted HERE

Colt D frames, Smith J frames, Taurus Slims, LC9's, etc, etc.

Both LC9's (mine and the Mrs) unceremoniously dropped mag's mid string, so they got sold pronto.

MrsDoc now totes a Kahr CW9 (she has a little more room with purse carry) while my SmartCarry hides a CM9.

Yet to find anything I don't like:

excellent trigger and action
accurate
cycles dependably
relatively inexpensive
9mm caliber
simple and durable

Kahrs seem to be well designed/built, but they don't seem too friendly to large hands/fingers. When I tried one, I was constantly pinching my trigger finger between the tip of the trigger and the trigger guard. My as yet flawless SR9C suits me better. No one model is going the be the perfect answer for everyone.

I carried a MK9 for a couple of years, darn little thing is heavy so when the CM9 came out last year I got one and love it! Had to sand down a few sharp high spots (bottom of slide relese) over 1000 rounds not one problem.

It's with me every day.

I like them too. I got roasted here the last time I talked about them so I'll just shut up.

One thing I was very happy about was that Kahr took the trouble and expense to get them certified in MA. The PM40s are the smallest .40 caliber pistols you can buy here.

They're far from cheap - but being able to buy a .40 caliber MA-legal pistol this size and weight is worth the extra money to a lot of people and I tip my hat to Kahr Arms for not taking the path of least resistance and abandoning all the people in the state where they make the pistols. Instead they made a version we could buy. The external safety, LCI and the relatively expen$ive price are what we pay in MA to get a gun this size, this good, in that caliber.

They're made about 40 miles from where I live as the crow flies, so if I buy one and have to take it back for service, I'm pretty sure I could actually drop it off and pick it up myself.

I had a similar problem with my LC9 dropping the magazine. After disassembly and a close inspection it was obvious the latch casting wasn't properly cast. The surface of the latch that engaged the magazine was misshaped and slanted downward toward the butt. This allowed the magazine to slip past the catch with the impetus of recoil. The bottom part of the latch is supposed to have an upward slant to allow the magazine to be shoved in past the latch but the top of the latch should be perpendicular to the magazine. I ground mine flat with a dremel and had no further issues with the pistol that now has fired around 1000rds of store bought and reloaded ammo. I contacted Ruger who sent me a new latch but to date my reshaping the original casting is working just fine. The new latch supplied by Ruger had a much better shape and probably would work as it's supposed to if I ever find a reason to put it into the gun. So far the LC9 is the carry gun I like best for summer followed by my LCP. Cool weather carry is still my SR40c.

We all know every manufacturer has it's good days, bad days, but thought you might want to see this. Forewarned is fore-armed?
I'm sure there are just as many posts about good things with Kahrs, too.

My SR9c is my favorite carry. Excellent gun, but the LC9 is smaller and can fit also.
