Please Advise - SR40c Trigger

Hi guys and gals,

I'm the proud new owner of the SR40c -- even sold my M&P9. I'm quickly wondering if that was a bad, bad mistake.

After ~150 rounds, I've had the trigger not reset (I see that others have had this problem in other posts). This has happened about 10 times. WTF?

1. Does anyone know if Ruger really knows what the hell is causing this or if they can actually fix it if I send it back?

2. When I dry fire the pistol, the slide catches and resets the trigger every time. Is this a slide issue or magazine issue (some claim only certain mags did it in another post)?

3. I'm afraid that I'll never fully trust this gun because it happens so sporadically. If you were me, what would you do? I'm pretty fired up about it.

I had the same problem with my SR9c. I sent it back to Ruger. After 2 weeks I got it back. I have only put 200 rounds through it since, but I have not had one trigger reset problem with it again. Before I sent it back, it did not matter which of my 3 mags I had in it. Out of the box, and yes I cleaned it, the trigger was sticking about every 6-8 rounds. According to the work order sheet sent back with it, they installed a new trigger reset in it. The trigger itself even feels 10 times smoother than it did before I sent it back. Everyone that I have let try it, loves it. Hope this helps.

Send it back, explaining explaining exactly what is happening, and when. I see no reason why Ruger won't fix it satisfactorily.

My SR40c did it when I forst bought it. I took it back to the LGS where I bought it and had hteir gunsmith look at it, He took it to the bock cleaned the trigger area and fired 15 rounds. I have put about 3000 rounds through it since then with no issues. he said there was a small piece of plastic in there from the production machining.
