My dealer had them at 399.00 for the SS model...so I now have one in my safe... I really like the feel of the gun...just really doesn't feel like a compact,balances well....even the short grip feels good ...reminds me of a S&W 6906..except not as heavy or chunky....

I really like mine. Almost feels like a single stack. Hate the trigger but I prefer single actions anyway. Trigger work is going to happen on mine here in the next few weeks.

Congrats on your new purchase! I'm sure you will enjoy it for a long time.
Before you get a bunch of work done, make sure you really do a thorough cleaning of the striker and especially the striker channel. There seems to be a common problem of small particulate debris in the channel that gives it a "Gritty" feeling. Once it is cleaned and lubed PROPERLY, they seem to feel much smoother.

Mine has been torn down and cleaned. I'm going to do some polishing and am putting in the rocket. The grittyness doesn't bother me. It's the gross over travel that causes the trigger to be snappy that I really would like to get ride of, hence the Rocket. I know that it's causing me accuracy issues. I also grew up shooting 1911's and I own an XD so I'm just so used to smooth light SA triggers. This is the first DA pistol I've ever owned. I shot a Glock and an M&P but never really like them. I loved the design of the SR so I figured I could could sacrifice on the trigger a little knowing that I could eventually set the trigger up more to my liking.

My SR9c is my EDC. It replaced a Kimber in .45 (Pro Carry II). Yeah, it's a "lesser" caliber but it caries better and is reliable. That said, if Ruger ever produces a mid-sized 1911 I'll replace the SR9c with that. I love the .45 but the SR just beats it in the carry dept. That means a lot when you carry daily.
