Yes I had Clements do some work on it....His shop installed this dove tailed sight...I was not real happy with the work that was done..the trigger is not good...It was sent back to me with a custom belt pin that would not clear the frame and the cylinder would not come out..I emailed him he suggested I remove the ejector rod housing to clean the gun, I him told that I would send the pin back so the shop could grind the nob down..I didn't get the original pin back the first time, but then he sent both back to me...I don't think I would send another gun to his shop...

Sorry you didn't have a good experience.
I really like the compact size and large caliber that are combined in the Montado and am interested in how to overcome the inadequate sights. I recently looked at one that had been worked over by Dustin Linebaugh with a nice dovetail front that was drift adjustable, and a soldered in disc in the rear that was milled to match the front and then filed down for point of aim. It was nice work.

I think the work that Dustin does with these guns - Vaquero, Montado, etc. - is really nice. If I had seen one like that earlier, I may have had 2nd thoughts about the work I had done to my Montado... but Alan Harton did a superb job for me. I'll tell you, I have never felt a more perfect action job on a NM Ruger SA revolver than what Alan did for my Montado.
I had a S&W rear adjustable sight melded on the top strap and a custom front base and patridge sight up front. Also had a Bird's Head grip frame added. Alan did it all perfectly. Also had Alan ream the throats to .452 and do a black powder chamfer on the cylinder face. Oh yeah, and a free spin pawl.
It's the 2nd one down on the right. You can compare it to the stock Montado above it.
I have several Old Vaquero Birdsheads, and am going to rework one to use as a pig gun. That little Montado of yours just gave me some ideas! Does anybody have pictures of these Vaqueros Dustin has done? I'd really like to see them.
