Perhaps something on a Hawkeye marking?

Newly acquired Hawkeye has a very small 's' stamped on barrel top, just barely forward of the frame. Seller thought it might signify something; but does it? Second? I know nothing of Hawkeyes. Help a fellow OM owner if you would. I doubt anything.

I believe that is just a "proof' mark, mine has it too.........:unsure:;)

Pretty sure all Hawkeyes have that proof mark. ;)

Seconds were marked with an "S" on the bottom of the frame ahead of the trigger guard.
