Just a guy who bought his first Ruger rifle. I got myself a Ruger American Ranch. I chose 7.62x39. I liked the design, short barrel length, and the magazine choices. My only criticism is no iron sights. But maybe in the future I can get that done too. Hunting, target shooting and SHTF are the reasons I got this rifle. Glad to be here.

welcome from NE Ohio,,,,yes Ruger does that used to be one way or the other and sometimes BOTH..iron sights, no scope rings or holes and the other scope,rings holes NO iron sights,,,the more expensive one had it all..........
good gunsmith can mount the front and rear iron sights,not sure if yours came drilled/tapped or not.....make things easier......
