Patsy was so good, a lot of her songs bring a lot of emotion out in me when I hear them. She breathed life into her songs. Let's say Patsy was the Queen of Country music but I think Leann Rhymes is the best female singer today. Enjoy the documentary.

Our local news featured a young girl singing some of Patsy's songs at an old folks home. She had a nice voice, but there was no emotion when she sang. When Patsy sang, you heard and FELT the music.

LeAnn Rimes, well, when she was younger,,, she had a heck of a voice. But her "voice coaches",,, and management decisions has changed her to where she no longer produces the beautiful music she used to grace us with. She could have been a lot bigger star than she was.

Patsy hated this tune and refused to record it at first. In June, 1961, she was almost killed in a head-on car crash and was incapacitated with multiple injuries for months. At the recording session, she had to bow out as her ribs were still hurting her from the crash. Owen Bradley, her producer, decided to record the instrumentals and then 2 weeks later, still on crutches, Patsy recorded the tune in a single take. Using a newly developed 4-track tape recorder, the 2 sessions were seamed together and the rest is history. Released on October 16, 1961, this tune has been voted the #1 tune played on a jukebox since its inception.
An American classic, written by a then-unknown 27 year old Willie Nelson.
