A couple years ago, my wife's father passed away unexpectedly. Among his stuff we shipped back here from TX was an old 10/22 bolt I found. I immediately knew what to do with it. The man had a great interest in military firearms, the older ones from his era so this bolt would become the heart of an M1 conversion of a 10/22. Got a receiver and trigger group a while back and just ordered the rest of what I needed to get this assembled for the little guy for Christmas.
Last year I used a bunch of inheritance $ from my grandmother to get him some special things and then again this past Sept for his birthday - told him it was from Grammie. This year, it'll be GrandPa that'll be giving him something special. Hope he likes it.
