Will a standard Colt commander round hammer & grip safety fit the Ruger? how about a arched mainspring housing & 1911a1 trigger?
thanks

(wish they would clone a wwII 1911a1)

Bob, I think you will find that MOST 1911 platforms around today are "cloned" A1's......and the parts most of the time interchange, its when you get into the 80 series Colts, and their firing pin blocks, things start getting a bit confusing..the housing and the hammer should work for you...what you may find is when using a "round" hammer, the grip safety and the hammer may need "clearance", when the hammer is rearward........lots of the "new" stuff today is made to "clear" each other, Cyl & Slide, Mc Cormicks and on and on and on...........

The grip safety will not. The Ruger piece has a slight upward dogleg of the forward facing "spud". Normal 1911 is straight. ( I HATE beavertails! It's the only thing I don't like about the Ruger 1911)

Ruger's 1911 is not a "MIL-Spec" gun. Parts are built to make Ruger's guns work, not other clones. Moving parts may or may not require fitting, and some 'smiths have refused to use any but Ruger parts due to tolerances and some design mods.

I had a heckuva time getting a Wilson match trigger (solid nylon) to work in my 2011 SR1911. Needed a new mainspring to run.
I hate the three-hole and "skelotonized" trigger look and dirt-collector result. It had to go.
