if i turn my p95 barrel up then barrel down there's a rattle, is this normal? thanks for any help

The barrel is floating around in the slide. The barrel is not fully locked in place without a round chambered.

there's a round chambered, it won't do it with the mag out or if i push up and hold the mag tight .

Then it is probably the follower or spring in the mag. Mags can be a funny thing, There is a certain gun brand whose mags will rattle with odd rounds loaded but not when they're even.

its the mag, thanks cheesewhiz. i took it out and started to remove the round they were loose in the mag. its the new mag that came with the gun will ruger replace it or can i fix it. thanks

I would load it fully and unload it with your thumb a few times and see if it goes away. Does it do it with both mags? You can take them apart, the base plate comes off, look in your manual.

i loaded my mag back with 15rds, if i hold the mag in my hand and push down on the top round and move the mag back and forth it rattles bad.

UPDATE!!! I TRIED SOME 115 GRAIN FMJ AND SO FAR THEY DON'T RATTLE, THE 147 GRAIN HOLLOW POINTS WERE WHAT WAS RATTLING. think it might be the bullets? i'm gonna try the 115 grain hollow point later.

A NEW UPDATE: i found out that after inserting my mag with 147 grain if i hit the back of the pistol the rattle stops. i don't have to hit it hard just a couple taps and the rattle stops.

So I just bought a new in the box factory mag for my p95. Got home and it rattles, loaded it and it still rattles!! Put in the gun it still rattles. took it apart and look what I found...

Out of the new box it had an extra base piece. Took out the extra one and it's all good... no rattles. I'll bet this is your problem.
