hey guys, I own a ruger P90 dc. When I shoot it, It doesnt eject the empty case and it jams. I thought it was the guide rod and spring so i bought a new one. That wasnt it, Now Im lost. Can anyone tell me whats wrong?

Sometimes, gunk can get under the ejector too. I would remove, clean, and inspect that first.

Welcome to the Forum.

Nice gun, I recently picked one up and it's clearly a favorite. Don't know the answer to your problems but wanted to welcome you to the group.

A picture would really help.

The extractor is the part that is in the side of the slide. The ejector is the part you have to push down inside to remove the slide. Does the ejector look ok?

Sounds to me like you may be limp wristing which would make the slide not cycle as it should. Meaning if you let the gun rock back in your hand the slide can't move far enough back to let the case fly out.

A new guide rod spring may be stiffer so by changing it you actually made your issue worse.

I am no pro but these are my thoughts based on your post.

Hope I gave you something to think about.

Good luck,

BrittB or P90. Thanks for the advice, I guess it could be the ejector, Whats a good way of getting to it. I have owned the gun for about 3 years, but I have only had to change out the mag release. I can field strip it but thats all. The gun was used.

When you field strip it you have to push the ejector down. After the slide is off move the ejector back up into normal position and see if it is pointing straight forward and parallel to the frame. If it is it should be OK.

Pictures would still be nice.

I was thinking extractor instead of ejector which is on the right side of the slide. That can get gunk under it and not funtion correctly. There are some good video's on YouTube for taking the slide apart on the P90. The DC is a little different in the decocker area than the standard P90 but I can't recall what I had to do to get it all apart. Mine had some sort of gummy lube everywhere and required a complete taredown when I first got it. It's been 100% ever since.

The extractor is pulled out easy by putting a flat screw driver under the edge the shell would be under pressing to the right and pivot the screw driver against the firing pin area. pops right out.

Going in is simply lining it up and pushing hard to get it to pop back in place. I use a wooden dowl thru the barrel hole in the front of the slide.

But I still think that the slide isn't going back far enough to allow time for the shell to eject.

Please post what you figured out.
