P89 mag release spring.

I am looking to lighten the mag release a bit. I have had good luck lightening coil type springs by grinding them down so they are thinner which makes them lighter. The spring in the 89 is some sort of leaf type.

Anyone have any advice on how to lighten this up?

I haven't done it but am sure you could tweak the little leaf spring by just bending it in slightly toward the bottom after removal..
I read a post here about it when searching old threads for information..
