Single-Sixer
Went shooting today with the 15lb recoil spring. It worked fine with the lighter charged 230gr lead round nose, accuacy was decent. I had 40 230gr hornady JHP reloads, fair to lousy accuracy, four rounds that failed to chamber, twice. I put them in my Wilson mag and all chambered and fired. Not sure if it was the mag or something else as the rounds chambered about half way then stopped with the Ruger mags. They were lined up and level when they stopped. I found out the hammer will drop with the slide out of battery, but of course it can't reach the firing pin with the slide 1/2" back from lock-up. I'm leaving the 15lb spring in as it doesn't seem to affect anything with standard loads and I can use hotter loads when I want.
Added: Something else I noticed. With the 13lb stock spring I has hit in the face on each shot with powder and gas. With the 15lb spring and standard speed loads this did not happen untill I used my hotter JHP loads.
It rattles like hell as it cycles. too.
I rarely sell my guns, but this one is on the line
