Orderin' a holster is an exercise in patience!

I contacted another custom holster maker back in August. I wanted a Brill style holster for my Blackhawk. O.K. Right hand, forward cant, 2 1/2" belt, tan or russet color, basket weave stamped, no retention loops or strap, for a 4 5/8" Blackhawk. Quoted price was acceptable, even better than I expected.

So, maker tells me about three month wait, to which I agree. Finally learn I am next up. Then, unexpectedly, maker has back surgery, maybe three weeks recuperation. Now tells me work to begin November 30th, today's date. Expected delivery by next week.

I sympathize with the maker, but it sure is a strain on my patience. But I do have a verbal contract, actually an email contract, so I sit back and wait. And its not as if I don't have a holster.

I prefer dealing with one man shops for leather. Yea, they can get behind, or have an emergency come up. But I've never been disappointed in the quality.

I ordered one from Amazon that was to be made once the order was placed.
Can't complain withy that. :wink:
Ordered it 10/29/20, with an expectation of one to two weeks for shipment.
Got an E-mail 10/30 that it had shipped USPS!! :shock: . :shock: . :shock:
Started watching the USPS tracking.
- - - THREE WEEKS LATER, it arrived at USPS in MA. :shock:

Received it yesterday.
Inferior quality and . . . very . . . thin leather.
They said it might need to be stretched a bit for good fit (sounds good to me).
Gun drops in and almost rattles in the holster.
It's going back.
