I recently acquired a 5.5" bbl Single Six serial number 309XX from my dad. From what I can tell it was made in 1955. Looking for a value for insurance purposes.
Yep, "condition" & the presence or absence of box/papers/etc ( their condition, also), and any modifications since issued, and rarity/desirability are the way value is determined.
It appears that you have a type 3 Flatgate. If it is between 95 and 98% then RENE list it at $630. If it has the box then add $190 extra for the box. the paperwork 90 to 125 dollars more. This is just a rough ball park figure. If it is not 95 to 98% then the value goes down depending on the condition. Just as contender said Condition, Condition Condition is everything. We really need good pictures of all sides of the gun to determined the condition and value.
