I see no military markings on his clothes. He looks military, but is he?
That horse is built like a tank, no doubt about that.

My Dad enlisted at the age of 15 into the Army during WW I. As a private he had no uniform insigna.

He doesn't look over 16.

My dad enlisted in the Washington National Guard, Cavalry, in 1920 at age 16. He served two years in the Guard and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 18.
