Find a good double barrel man and ask him if the pitting can be honed out without weakening the barrels too much. There's a 'smith named Mike Orlen that many use for this kind of work; probably other members can suggest others. A slight overboring on the barrels may also make it pattern better--many custom target guns are deliberately overbored.

LC Smiths are pure gold.
