And how can you have an old Ruger ad conversation without Rugers controversial 44 Magnum Carbine ad that only printed once, June 1963 American Rifleman.

I'll dig out the dates for the older ads later. But they are among the best ever.

The gorilla ad did stir up the pot for sure! Even back then!

Yeah that Gorilla pic would stir up some sh** these days. Can hear the tree huggers screamin. Recall the Ruger 44 going for $115 for quite a while over the years in ads. Selling for good money now in the used gun racks. Heck of a gun.

I bought my .30 Carbine Blackhawk mid-summer 1969, mostly based on Ruger's ads and gun writers reviews.
Ruger bumped the price from $87.50 to $ 98.50 somewhere in that time frame.
Just before I bought my Blackhawk I think ?

Like that price too of $108. Have seen used in great condition going for $600 or more. Ideal brush gun for sure.
