Old Model Single Six question

I just purchased a new set of Ruger Factory Walnut grips for my 1954 OMSS.
My question is do I need the spacer that fits over the screw and if I should need one can someone give me the dimensions as I can't find one on the net

Hi Dave,
You mean the spacer that keeps one from tightening the grips too much? If so it's the same length as the width of your grip frame, 1/2"

I buy nylon spacers a dozen at a time. Next,, I usually grind off about .005 off them as I've had too many frames that are a hair narrower than the 1/2". When I don't sand them down,, I get a bit of gap/wobble in my grips.

Dave, the hole is a #6 screw for the spacer. All my grips get spacers.

Glad to help.
The guy isn't local. We have pretty much determined that. Plus,, in studying his method of robbery,, he has a system where he goes into master bedrooms & bathrooms as his primary target area. Jewelry, guns, money & drugs first. Followed by electronics he can move easily. My gun room was his last room here, as the door stays closed & we think he figured it to be a spare bedroom.
